On January 21, 2026, the very day that marks the 40th anniversary of Hideaki Tokunaga’s major debut, his long-awaited new album will be released.
The new album is titled “COVERS”.
This work marks the beginning of a brand-new cover album series that reflects Tokunaga’s true essence as an artist.
It is his first studio recording since joining Nippon Columbia, and his first cover album in 11 years since the beloved “VOCALIST 6.”
Through the “VOCALIST” series, Tokunaga built his own musical identity by faithfully interpreting masterpieces by female artists.
With “COVERS,” he expands his reach to songs by both male and female artists, expressing the timeless tunes he most wants to sing now — with heartfelt arrangements and his voice.
Exactly 40 years since the release of his debut song “Rainy Blue,” this album captures a new resonance born from his continuing journey.
